Way Down East - DW Griffith, Early Example of Parallel editing. In this clip the pace is set by the editing as the action is happening as quick as they are showing. This creates the pace that the director would have intended as the rapid edits show the vital details for the clips whilst keeping the same pace that keep the audiences attention.This is also an example of continuity editing as the clips are related to what is intended as they are all in or around ice and a lake this relates to the other clips as they show a water fall and someone jumping over ice whilst they are flowing along the lake. This give an example of perception of space as two characters are far from each other yet they are in the same area.
